Making content can truly unlock new levels of success.

We should in the mindset of creators, not just consumers.

Creating content is important for entrepreneurs because it gives us leverage.

It’s free marketing, it costs time but the return is well worth it. When we provide valuable content online and grow a following we open the door to many paths of monetization. Attention is gold now days.

One piece of content can be posted to 5 or more social media platforms. Within minutes.

A podcast or long form video can be split into clips and uploaded as shorts.

Content systems also can operate independently of your time. Let me explain.

So let’s say from brainstorming to hitting post it takes you 1-2hrs a day for your daily content, maybe more maybe less.

Well once that video is posted it now can be viewed and interacted with for a long time before it gets buried underneath the new content.

So a 1-2hr investment of time has the potential to perform for days, weeks or longer.

It’s not enough to just hope you reach your customers. We have to work for it, we have to build a presence, provide value and develop some social proof. When we find creative ways to make valuable content we provide service to others and ourselves.

We can also eventually get sponsorship, collaborations, monetization, and if we are selling a product or service we can directly funnel it through our content system without being too pushy.

The idea is we provide free value and share what we know and we provide payed services or products as well, either content behind a pay wall like Patreon or Substack, or a newsletter with a monthly fee. Merch stores are another common example.

So this is just a reminder of the power of content creation and the potential in being a content creator, not just a consumer. Someone else is interested in what you are and you can help them with what you know.
