Feeling content.
If we are not careful, there’s always something to be seeking.
People spend their whole lives searching, yearning for satisfaction.
This thing will make them happy, this job or this career, this car or person.
This home or material possession will complete them, then they’ll feel peaceful.
Once they achieve this goal or experience a certain win, then they’ll be completed.
The reality is contentment is a present-moment experience. It’s here and now.
Being satisfied or grateful is a choice of perception we get to make. We decide.
After each new thing we acquire, inevitably we go back to baseline and feel numb.
The pendulum always swings back the other way. The feeling of success is fleeting.
This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have goals or aim high in life. It means don’t wait.
Don’t wait to feel grateful for some future moment, find a reason now to smile.
Find things to be happy and joyful about now, don’t wait for external situations.
Of course the outer world affects our inner state, the same is true the other way.
We choose gratitude now and let go of the need to be constantly seeking/wanting.
We don’t chase so hard externally, we return to centre internally, and life shifts.
We don’t need external material items, fancy watches or cars to be at peace within.
When we realize it’s an illusion, we won’t be pulled into the confusion of the ego.
Don’t wait for external validation, give yourself permission to love yourself now.
