It’s ok to be misunderstood.

It’s ok to be misunderstood.

Obviously it’s never our intention to be misunderstood by others, but if it happens, so be it. Not everyone will understand us in this life and it’s fine.

It’s prideful to assume everyone will always understand our point of view, even friends and family often misunderstand us, but who’s to say we don’t do the same?

We can be best understood by how we live, by what we do not what we say. Even then we will still be misunderstood and perceived differently by different people.

Theres no sense in wasting too much energy trying to fit into places we no longer fit or with people who don’t truly care. Better off spending that energy elsewhere.

If people can’t understand us fully, maybe they can understand our work, our art, what we do in this world, the service we provide, the problems we choose to solve.

If they misunderstand us, let them. We’ve got bigger things to focus on, because worrying what others think about us, takes us off course on our own journey.

If we adapt ourselves to the opinions of others, we risk missing out on our own calling. This life is our own unique experience, we have our own gifts to give.

Wise advice is a blessing, but we need to be able to discern for ourselves. Are you ok with being misunderstood? It’s part of the process on the path of purpose.
