Understanding quiet exhaustion.
Silent exhaustion is subtle. It’s not the tired feeling from a long day or a good workout or hike. It’s not the type of tired that feels normal or expected. Its deeper.
It’s the feeling of despair in the back of your mind. It’s the unexplainable heaviness, the weight on your chest, the drained feeling that leaves you empty.
It’s feeling tired for no good reason, even if you didn’t push yourself very hard. Feeling foggy all the time, a sense of being stuck, shut down, idling or wandering.
It’s the feeling of waking up in the morning and instead of feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to go, it’s a sense of dread. A lack of clarity and motivation.
This experience often feels physical, like something is off in the body, and that could be true. But the root of this problem is psychological, or even spiritual.
That exhaustion isn’t just from physical tiredness. It’s your soul talking to you. It’s a cry for help, a warning sign, a flashing red light. It’s here to catch your attention.
The solution isn’t a physical fix, (although there are good things to try like clean eating, proper sleep, exercise and fresh air etc.) The solution comes from within.
This exhaustion is from fighting life, from rejecting and resisting where you currently are. Following someone else’s map instead of your internal compass.
That exhaustion feels like a deep pit you’re tying to crawl out of, but the solution is simpler than that. The solution is stillness, inner work, trusting, faith, acceptance.
The solution is to stop trying to control every interaction, every situation, every outcome or event. Rather, we let go. We accept where we currently are. We return.
We return to trusting the process, we stop trying to be perfect and accept ourselves for where we currently are. We stop identifying with all our thoughts.
We stop chasing, grasping, lacking. We begin listening to our soul. We begin breathing deeper, releasing the tension instead of storing it. We relax, deeply.
We begin to imagine the life we want as if it’s already ours. Before we see the results, before we feel ready. We walk by faith not by sight. We focus inwardly.
We let go of false beliefs, worries, fears, old patterns and programs. We forgive and let go of past baggage. We work through internal blockages, to be renewed again.
This drained feeling comes from not being physically tired, but mentally drained. Living on high alert for too long. In survival, nervous system in fight or flight.
As we work on releasing these inner blockages. Our energy will begin to move again. Like a kink removed from a hose, the flow will return. We will feel it.
We’ve been focusing on fear and survival so long, we forgot to live. To be present, to experience the beauty of the moment. Not only will we survive. We can thrive.
Whats one thing you can do today for yourself to work on releasing inner tension and blockages? Let's release the weight of control, and enter into our full potential.
