Daily Drop

March 16, Daily Drop

Sometimes what we need is just a moment of silence from the frenzy. A pause from the daily noise. A break from the daily buzz going on all around us.

Maybe that means a walk or maybe that means a weekend getaway or a vacation. Maybe it’s enough to go to that inner place of calm and quiet for a few minutes.

When we pause the frantic scurry for a moment we can gain some clarity and perspective on how we’re living and if we’re comfortable with our trajectory.

Are we headed where we want to go? Are we satisfied with how we’re spending our time? Are we getting burnt out? Do we feel inspired creatively? How are we?

To answer these questions we may find we need to take a break from the endless rounds of responsibilities, tasks, habits and distractions. We may even need quiet.

It seems in order to make changes that last we first need to understand how we’re currently coping with life. We can be self aware and take a good look at ourselves.

It’s hard to be observant and grounded when we’re in the middle of the ceaseless stream of daily activities and tasks. So this is when its key to make the choice.

We give ourselves grace and permission to take a moment for ourselves, understanding that it may feel somehow “wrong” but in the end it will benefit us.

When we have clarity, our energy is revitalized. Our minds can work on what’s truly important to us rather than spinning around in an aimless frenzy.

When we have peace and silence even for a few minutes a day, we can recharge mentally and spiritually and we will emerge as calmer versions of ourselves.

We can be more grounded and healthy for ourselves and friends, families and loved ones. This is a practice we keep ready for anytime we’re overwhelmed.

And no this wont slow you down. Paradoxically the art of slowing down and taking strategic pauses gives us a better chance at accelerated success long term.

So we should give ourselves permission to slow down, take some quiet time. And self reflect. This will give us a competitive edge in a world of frenzy and noise.
