Foundations.

Anything we build needs something very important, a foundation, a solid base of strength. a solid foundation that doesn’t shift. A sturdy base.

Most of us want the end product, the success, the glory. But we often seem to gloss over the most important step. the foundation, the base.

When we focus on the foundation first what we’re building has the chance to last. To stand the test of time. A great tree needs a strong root system, but the thing is, we can’t see it, the roots are buried deep underground, hidden but essential.

Things that get build without a solid foundation will always fall before their time, all it takes is one bad storm or the earth to shift, things outside of our control to wipe away all that effort.

Building a solid foundation starts with putting the first things first. Planning well, foreseeing possible future scenarios, possible things that could go wrong. Focusing on the important fundamentals before trying to scale to infinity.

We need to walk before we can run. We can start with creating our product or service and getting feedback or pre selling before finding out maybe people don’t need that service after investing years of time and money.

The foundation is our base skills, our work ethic, our network, our habits, our behaviours, how we spend our time, even our mindset.

When we have these in order as we build, our creation will have a solid foundation to build upon and we will have a much higher chance of success.
