Daily Drop
Seeing life as an adventure, a journey or a story. Full of different quests, chapters, characters, items and possibilities. Friends and foes, side quests and main missions.
If we can imagine our lives as a story it shows us that we are important. We are the main characters in our lives. We’re on our voyage, in this story we are the lead role.
This style of creativity is freeing, you’re the lead actor in this movie called your life, you choose how to show up. You’re not a side character in your own story.
This isn’t being a narcissist. Narcissists think they’re the main character in everyone’s life. We know everyone is the main character for their own stories.
At times we will be supporting roles in other peoples stories. This is a good thing, we show up and help or support our friends and family, we’re part of a community.
Life is our story, let’s not live for causes or lifestyles we don’t align with. We need to be true to our souls on this adventure. But beware, it may be more challenging.
Stories are full of interesting twists and turns, if everything were smooth sailing it wouldn’t be very interesting to follow. We have to be prepared for some adversity.
The challenges strengthen the characters, the adversity hones the skills of the team. The shared adventure brings the crew closer together. The hero develops.
So let’s use our imagination. Life doesn’t have to be dreary and drab. It doesn’t have to be boring and grey. Make it interesting. Go on your journey, it’s calling.
If your life was a movie or book, would you stay stuck in miserable boring chapters? Would you stay at the job you hate or would you take a chance?
What would be more interesting to the story? Staying in the same place forever or venturing out to new horizons. Stagnation or exploration? Coping or growing?
Yes living like a story might be a little more risky and less “safe”, but how else will you have tales to tell in your later chapters? Is there not more to life than security?
The cushy job is great if it satisfies your soul. But if you feel that call, that restlessness, that pull to adventure. There’s a reason for that. Your gut’s telling you.
So let’s not get caught in the mundane. Let’s not get fearful. Let’s live our adventure, with gratitude and excitement. We can avoid the dull, the empty.
Things that feel soulless don’t need to be a part of our story. We follow our intuition where it’s leading us. We don’t settle for being told how to live our story.
So where is your story taking you? Have you enjoyed the last few chapters? or could it be time for some changes? Let’s not be afraid to be adventurous anymore.
