Understanding human nature. Observing our tendencies and behaviours better.

Change is a constant as we know, the outer world is always changing, shifting, speeding up it seems. But one thing isn’t so quick to change. Human nature.

The type of jobs may change, the year will change, the technology will change. The basic outer circumstances may change a lot, but human nature is engrained in us.

This is not to say people can’t change themselves dramatically on a personal level, even social and cultural level. Because we certainly can. But our nature runs deep.

We have egos and pride. We value recognition and we seek validation. We can be selfish. We care what others think about us. We’re tribal and can be easily divided.

When we focus on the outer performance given in daily life, we may fall under an illusion. People put on masks, act one way while feeling another, we must observe.

The outer situations will shift and change, but human nature mostly stays the same. People are still motivated by many primal urges. It’s hardwired into us.

When we understand our human ego, our human tendencies, we will begin to see our own behaviour and the behaviour of others more clearly. We see the truth.

We understand ourselves better. We gain perspective on why others do what they do. All this awareness helps us to have a more clear view of the world around us.

Technology changes, platforms change, Popular culture changes, but human nature, that’s hardwired. It evolves as well, but at a slower pace than the external.

When we understand human nature we will begin to see patterns, cycles. Desires, the shadow side of people. We will see mistakes we’ve made. We’re more attuned.
