Daily Drop

Consistency, the key to be free.

If we seek perfect circumstances we may never start. If we seek the perfect opportunity it may never come.

The good news is we don’t have to be perfect, despite the cries of the ego. We just need to show up daily for ourselves and for those we love.

With consistency we can do things we never thought possible. Water cuts through rocks with a consistent stream. Diamonds are forged under consistent pressure. Both these processes take time, they’re not overnight changes.

Its seems like the internet has us wanting overnight success, millions in the bank and a Lamborghini parked outside. Fast money and flashy money.

While that is definitely possible with things like crypto and influencer money, it’s often fleeting. Most of the people who last, are quiet and consistent. Not usually very flashy, they just show up and do what they love to do, no attention needed.

The art of consistency allows us to keep showing up, although we may not be the best in the world at what we do. We steadily improve our skills, and we will be rewarded financially as we grow our abilities.

At first these no applause, there’s no pats on the back. We might not even be making money from the skill we’re developing at first. We just have to show up with faith that this work is worth it. That this journey is leading us somewhere.

Something beautiful happens when we’ve been watering and tending the seed of our dreams for long enough. It begins to sprout. We finally see some progress. That will motivate us to keep going, to rededicate to who we’re becoming.

So let’s not be paralyzed with the fear of needing things to be perfect. Let’s not worry about the opinions or judgement of others. Let’s only compare ourselves to who we were yesterday. And let’s keep showing up consistently.

We don’t need to be the most skilled, or most talented, or most ready. We just need to start where we are. Right here right now with the resources we have available, and we just need to show up. Every day. Consistently. This will set us free.

When we’re consistent we break free from the worry that we’re not doing enough, we’re free from the doubt if we’ll make it, free from the regret of not trying. We don’t know with certainty that it will succeed. But we do know with certainty that we’re doing everything in our control to do our best every single day.

So my questions for you are…

What are you working on consistently day after day? And what are you working towards?
