It’s ok to be misunderstood…
Often we feel so offended when someone misunderstands us, we get angry and feel disrespected even if it’s only internally. The ego can be quite sensitive after all.
But why do we get upset when we’re misunderstood? Strangers, friends, family, loved ones, they all misunderstand us at times, it’s part of life, people project.
The real question is, do you honestly even fully understand yourself? If not then how can we get so mad when we’re misunderstood? Let them think whatever.
Obviously we need to protect our reputations, nobody wants lies or false information being spread about themselves, but let’s be real, often it’s little things.
We don’t need to always prove ourselves to everyone. Thats weak, desperate and kinda sad… Who cares what a stranger thinks about you, or if it’s not accurate?
Do you really think you don’t do the same to others? We all make judgments and assumptions of others, often were wrong, be we don’t give it a second thought.
So let’s calm down, we gotta stop stressing about these insignificant little matters. Life’s bigger than what someone thinks about you or if they misunderstand you.
Let’s be ok with being misunderstood, because thats part of life. Ever notice that the coolest people are the ones that don’t care about the options of others?
The more self conscious we are, the more we worry about being misunderstood, the more weird and closed in on ourselves we become. This is no way to live.
So we can relax, we can be ourselves. Because the more we worry, the less we’re present in our lives. we should be fully experiencing life, not living in our heads.
So if someone doesn’t get you, shrug it off, life’s too short to let others dictate your mood and control your peace. Just be you, people are drawn to authenticity.
So are you ready to accept that you will be misunderstood? This realization and acceptance will lift a weight off your shoulders, and elevate your presence in life.
