Daily Drop
Unhappy? demotivated? feeling stuck?
I know the feeling. I want to encourage you with this brief message.
When we’re feeling this way there's a few key factors for us to consider.
First of all we should take a look at our lives, our environments and our behaviours. What are we doing that we know we should stop? That’s the first step, getting brutally honest with ourselves.
We don’t need to uproot everything and change our entire lives overnight, that rarely lasts. Instead we can focus on making incremental daily changes. Small wins.
Maybe that means reading a book, eating healthier, going to bed earlier, cutting down on bad habits and time online.
Most people in this day and age are not physically exhausted and drained, but mentally. We live in a time of constant stimulation and noise all around us. That is draining and exhausting on a mental and psychological level.
So we can step back from this. We can intentionally consume less media, spend more time with community, in nature, in environments that feel peaceful.
Chaos in the mind from overstimulation often leads to demotivation. A lack of clarity, mental energy and focus. A fog in the mind that dulls our priorities.
So today what can you do to become 1% closer to where you want to go? Let’s not make this journey about big drastic monumental changes, often those don’t last, the pendulum typically swings back the other way after some time.
Instead we can ask ourselves, what can I do to be more balanced? What is unnecessarily draining my energy? What can I do to feel more centred and healthy, mentally physically and spiritually?
Often we try to fill ourselves and others up over and over constantly fighting, but first shouldn’t we find the leak? When we can stop the drain on our mental faculties from having our attention split in 100 directions, we will begin to feel more grounded and less exhausted.
So if you’re feeling stuck and demotivated, it’s ok. It’s actually quite normal, don’t beat yourself up that won’t help anything. Let’s start making the changes we need to bit by bit day by day to build the lives we want.
Lifes a marathon not a sprint.
