Thinking bigger.

If we want our lives to be bigger, we need to start thinking bigger. Often to avoid failure, we stay within the confines of our comfort zone. There’s potential opportunities out there, for success, wealth, purpose… But there’s also the possibility of failure that keeps many… If not most people, stuck thinking small.

When we think bigger we push past the old mental programs, doubters, fear. Nothing of significance comes by thinking small. People who have invented new technologies or stunned us with their creativity, believed they could. Im not saying successful people never have doubts or worries, they’re not controlled by them.

We can set bigger goals for ourselves, even unrealistic ones, not as some false “fake it until you make it”. As a choice to think bigger, a decision to not limit ourselves to other peoples ideas of whats possible. It’s people who discard negative options of others and carry on developing their craft, who shape innovation and progress.

This process isn’t about narcissism or grandiosity, it’s about remembering that new things were once seen as impossible. People who proposed new ideas were once viewed as mad, insane or foolish. But with time their ideas were validated and most got the recognition they deserved although, often after they had passed away.

At first the culture rarely recognizes something special, often it’s mocked at first or seen as bizarre, until eventually it catches on. Before you know it, now what was weird, has become trendy. No longer looked down upon or scoffed at. But now it’s become idolized, a false venire of what the true pioneers of the vision had started.

When we think bigger we will hear people doubting and casting their anxiety or lack based mentality at us. We need to be alert to this and not let it affect us. We don’t need to share the poisonous beliefs of others. The mind is like a garden, it can be cultivated, the weeds can be plucked whenever we choose. It’s up to us.

We may have been taught to think small by others when we were younger, but regardless, the choice is now ours to make. We choose many of our limitations, habits and patterns shape our lives, for better or worse. We are responsible for our path, our duty to ourselves and others, is to live with meaning and purpose daily.

So let’s not wait, let’s not be afraid, let’s not let the mental battle be lost to lies. We are capable of more than we know. Each of us has so much potential within, and I believe we are all given inherent gifts that are ours to express, in this life that we have been blessed with. How will you start the process of thinking bigger today?
