Daily Drop
A brief reflection on the fleeting nature of time.
We often feel like we have all the time in the world, especially when we’re young, time is perceived to be longer. As a kid a week feels like a month, but as we get older things seem to speed up.
As i’m writing this i’m 25 years old. Ive learned that time actually does blur by and if i’m not careful it can easily slip away without much change happening.
The reality is, if someone has small goals, then yes they probably have lots of time to achieve them and celebrate.
But the bigger the mission the more time and effort we need for it. Who knows if we set our goals high enough we may never fully achieve them in our allotted time.
I see that as a good thing, it means we were trying and we can guarantee we’ll do more in our time working on bigger dreams than checking little goals off a list.
If time is our non renewable resource of life, why to we waste it? why do we sell it doing things we hate to buy things we don’t need to impress people we don’t know?
This doesn’t have to be how we live, it’s how we’ve been programmed to live. But we can change that, we’re more than just consumers, we can produce, create, innovate, and change.
Of course we need to spend time to make money but, with focus and discipline we can find more enjoyable and rewarding ways to earn. We can use our time more intentionally and make the absolute most of it.
So this is a simple reminder to myself and others, every now and then we should pause and ask ourselves, have I been spending my time wisely? And if not what changes need to be made?
Because it’s easy to forget how fast it goes, so let’s make the most of this gift called the present moment.
Whats one way you can spend your time more purposefully today?
