Daily Drop

Just show up for yourself.

Not everyday needs to be great, or even the most productive. But we at least show up. Not because we feel like it, or want to, but it’s what we do, who we are.

Each day is not supernaturally productive, just consistent. And consistency compounds. These days build quietly, the work adds up.

We don’t need to summon some other worldly willpower each day, we just do our best, there will be times of high energy and enthusiasm and times of lower energy and exhaustion. We simply work with what we’ve got.

We build the habit of being there for ourselves, making the choices that benefit our future selves, showing up each day for ourselves, pushing back instant gratification in favour of long term achievement.

This doens’t mean being harsh to yourself or others, just solid. When you work you’re present, invested, not just distracting yourself, but engaged, with attention on the work at hand.

When we can do this… Everything will be more simple. We will have better results with our work, overall greater satisfaction, and we will yield more fruits from our labours.

It’s not about complicating life, just simplifying.

It’s not about focusing on monumental goals just to feel improvement. It’s just about showing up for ourselves daily. Because each day of focus towards our craft adds up. Each time we show up for ourselves we’re voting to become someone new.

Someone who is professional, resilient, hardworking, whose skills have been refined. Someone who shows up each day, and is always developing.

Showing up isn’t only about work, showing up can be showing up for your workout, or for eating clean, or for doing daily journalling, reading, education or even making art or music, showing up means doing what you need to grow.

So how will you show up for yourself today?
