We don’t need to have all the information before we act.
We don’t need to wait until we “feel ready”, or until “we figure it out”.
Getting ready or prepared is often a form of procrastination to avoid doing the important task.
When we try to collect all the information we can before trying something, it can be an avoidance tactic based in fear. If we’re always getting ready and figuring it out, we never have to face it and try.
So no we don’t need all the information ahead of time, we just need whats most important and vital. The rest of it we can figure it out as we go.
For context i’m speaking about creative and business opportunities and skills. Im not suggesting pilots or surgeons “just figure it out as you go”.
But you know who i’m talking to. If before trying something new you need to have everything planned perfectly, have all the information on the topic (which is impossible.) Watch the videos and podcasts, read the books. Basically doing everything but actually trying this new interest.
Im here to tell you we don’t need all the info before moving forward. We don’t need to be experts to become apprentices. We don’t need to know every step in advance before our journey begins.
Planning is intelligent and even necessary, however, over planning is a pitfall that traps many dreams. We can’t ever have things perfectly planned, in this life the only constant is change. Things are constantly shifting, so we must be adaptable.
So now that you wont worry about gathering all the information before trying something new, whats something you’ve wanted to try? Even if you don’t feel ready.
